              RESPONSIBILITIES - The job responsibilities include:

              The Vice President of Government Programs is responsible for new business sales strategies and results for all government program product lines in existing and expansion markets. Responsible for the overall development, direction, monitoring and evaluation of effective sales programs for all Government Programs lines of business to meet the established goals of MVP. Designs, implements, monitors, and reports on regional and corporate sales strategies. Provides direction to and oversees efforts of MVP Government Programs sales force

              The Impact You'll Make :
              • Develops sales forecasts and goals by product, segment and region, working with Finance, Actuarial, Product, Marketing and Customer Experience. Designs, implements, and ensures continuous improvement of MVP's Government Programs Sales Leaders.
              • Ensures sales representatives and licensed brokers follow MVP sales/service policies/procedures and continuously improve staff, broker professionalism.
              • Coordinates with all aspects of marketing product and field marketing, including designated community events, organizations, and public relations activities.
              • Represents MVP in business, community organizations and encourages staff to participate in organizations.
              • Achieves, measures and maintains high level of morale and professional development among Sales management, staff and brokers.
              • Participates in the development, evaluation and implementation of automated sales tools, training, and performance reporting for sales, brokerage distribution channels. Leverages technology to improve prospect management and monitor sales activity
              • Interacts with Finance & Talent to develop annual salary/non-salary budgets.
              • Develops and monitors sales incentive programs with Talent and Finance.
              • Participates in/takes leadership roles in special projects.
              • Member of the Sales and Marketing leadership team.
              • Performs other duties and areas of responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSRequirements:
                • BA/BS in business, health care administration or related field.
                • MS/MBA desired.
                • Minimum 8-10 years health insurance or managed care sales and account management experience in medium/large insurance or managed care not-for-profit/for-profit organization.
                • Must include significant direct sales and sales management/leadership experience.
                • Demonstrated success in sales and sales management functions and comprehensive understanding of various forms of rating development and alternate financing (experience rating, community rating, self-funding).
                • Demonstrated understanding of risk assessment and needs based selling a must.
                • Current leadership, knowledge and/or visible roles in business and community organizations strongly preferred.
                • Demonstrated understanding of NY, VT, and Northeast insurance market is required.
                • Strong organization, managerial, communications and interpersonal skills required.
                • Ability to professionally represent MVP and strongly focus and drive for continuous improvement in sales and retention.
                • Must possess or obtain within sixty (60) days of date of hire, a New York State Insurance License to sell Life, Accident, and Health coverage.
                • Experience with strategic planning and execution.
                • Exceptional communication skills.
                • Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.
                • Ability to work in a team and cross-functionally.
                • Ability to influence key stakeholders across the organization.
