Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Director to lead our team in delivering high-quality food service. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and evaluating work of food service staff, creating schedules, supervising food storage and handling, ensuring kitchen cleanliness, and coordinating food preparation for special events. Qualifications include CDM certification, high school diploma or equivalent, experience in food service within long-term care settings, and strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation. Leadership, communication, and teamwork skills are also required.Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of Food Service Staff.
• Create staff schedules and assist with payroll data entry as needed.
• Supervise the proper storage and handling of food and supplies.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, storage areas, dining spaces, and equipment.
• Inspect residents' trays for adherence to the menu.
• Provide assistance on the tray line during meal times when required.
• Organize and coordinate food preparation for special events.
• Handle ordering and purchasing of food and supplies.
• Lead training and orientation for new staff members.Qualifications:
  • Required: CDM certification.
  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience in food service within long-term care settings.
  • Preferred: ServSafe or Sodexo certification.
  • Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
