The Department of Neurology and the Neurosciences Institute of the Albany Med Health System is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology to join the Division of Vascular Neurology and the Comprehensive Stroke Center. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated vascular neurologists, neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, neurointensive care/stroke Advanced Practice Providers, and a 5-member neuroendovascular team available 24/7. The Comprehensive Stroke Center manages 2,800 stroke patients/year, performs 150-200 thrombectomies and admits 250 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage and more than 100 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage/ year. The position offers a unique opportunity for an early or mid-career vascular neurologist to practice in a busy academic Stroke service. The practice will include participation in cerebrovascular clinics, coverage of the inpatient service, providing education to the medical students, residents and vascular neurology fellows, as well as conducting research. Albany Medical Center is one of the "Top 100" Stroke Hospitals in the U.S., is both TJC and New York State Department of Health certified stroke center and serves as a major referral center of upstate New York and surrounding states such as Vermont and western Massachusetts. We have a 14- bed state-of-the-art stroke unit and dedicated 15-bed Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit.
