Job Description:
A company is looking for an Inpatient Medical Coder (Medical
Coder III).
Key Responsibilities
Assign diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient facility and
professional services accurately
Ensure correct assignment of DRGs for inpatient stays and code
discharge records with optimal DRG assignment
Perform tasks within military coding systems and assist with
ambulatory and outpatient coding as needed
Required Qualifications
RHIT or RHIA certification required
5+ years of medical coding/auditing experience in 2+ specialties or
3+ years in a Military Treatment Facility
At least 1 year of inpatient coding experience required
Expertise in ICD-CM, PCS, HCPCS, and CPT coding
80% minimum score on coding assessment
