Job Description:
About the Company:Ovelle is revolutionizing fertility treatment
through human in vitro oogenesis-producing eggs from somatic cells.
Our approach uses directed differentiation of human iPSCs to
ovarian cell types including granulosa cells and oogonia by
manipulating expression of transcription factors and RNA-binding
proteins. We are the first company to develop technology to induce
meiosis in human iPSCs. By innovating egg production, we aim to
make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable. If we are
successful, it will mark a paradigm shift in treatments for
infertility, and offer a new path to parenthood for millions of
people around the world. Come help us build an exciting future all
of us want to live in.About the Specific Role:We seek a Stem Cell
Scientist to lead our efforts in developing and optimizing
protocols for deriving granulosa cells and other supporting ovarian
cells from human iPSCs. In this role you will lead this effort,
which is critical to the success of human in vitro oogenesis. This
position offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a
field with immense potential to impact global health and
happiness.How You Will Contribute:
- Lead the optimization and execution of the directed
differentiation protocol to generate functional ovarian supporting
cells from human iPSCs.
- Design and implement transcription factor screening experiments
to identify key regulators of ovarian cell fate.
- Develop and characterize 3D ovarian organoids (ovaroids) by
co-culturing iPSC-derived granulosa-like cells with meiotic
oogonia
- Collaborate with our bioinformatics team to interpret bulk and
single-cell RNA sequencing data, contributing to the understanding
of ovarian cell development and function.Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field; or
track record of innovation
- Experience working with human pluripotent stem cells and
directed differentiation protocols.
- Proficiency in genetic engineering techniques, including
plasmid design and cloning, CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing,
lentiviral/transposon-based gene delivery systems, and pooled
library screens.
- Experience with flow cytometry, fluorescence-activated cell
sorting (FACS), and immunofluorescence microscopy, including
experimental design and data analysis.
- Familiarity with sequencing technologies, particularly
single-cell RNA-seq, and basic bioinformatics skills for data
analysis.
- Proven track record of successful execution of complex,
multi-step cell culture protocols and 3D organoid systems.Ovelle is
a research-first startup where scientists work together on only one
deep and important problem: IVG. We operate like a fast, efficient
academic lab without constraints. We're committed to sharing our
work with the scientific community and welcome collaborations with
academic researchers. We are well funded and have future funding
