Technician role executes lean transformation, employee engagement,
and problem solving to promote a "creativity before capital"
mindset. The CI Technician will partner with site leadership, and
the CI team, to work through rapid experiments while supporting
site transformation through LEAN processes.RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES:
- Apply high levels of technical creativity to construct
machines, equipment, and tools that support employees to gain
competitive advantage.
- Ability to fabricate equipment and fixtures including
assembling materials with fasteners, welding, cutting, bending,
drilling, grinding etc. a variety of metals, plastics, wood, or any
other materials required
- Apply the 3P process of "try storming" simulation to prove
concepts, followed up with quickly assembling solutions that
benefit the overall goals
- Maintain primary work area in accordance to 5S standards
- Improve, implement, and sustain 5S, Standard Work, Flow, Visual
Management, TPM, Error Proofing
- Ability to work with cross function teams to provide solutions
quickly and efficiently to manufacturing and material handling
related issues
- Ability to work in team-oriented environment to accomplish
large projects as well as self-management skills when working on
smaller tasks.
- Assist in training others on continuous improvement tasks and
processes.
- Communicates consistently with internal customers regarding
status of requests.
- Read and interpret schematics/blueprints.
- Uses various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts,
lifts, fork trucks and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight
material.EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Industrial and fabrication machinery
required.
- 5+ plus years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication
field is required.
- Strong mechanical and trouble shooting skills.
- Basic Electrical Skills as well as MIG and TIG welding skills
preferred.
- Basic machining skills including surface grinders, lathes,
vertical milling machines preferred.
- Basic Computer Skills, including working knowledge of
excel.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with
minimal supervision and be willing to train to strengthen skill set
to the level of a fabrication technician.
- Ability to self-direct and execute a daily and weekly action
plan.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this
job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or
hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use
hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include: close vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus.*WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work in office environment and manufacturing environment
- May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the
